This year, NLT was held by AMSA-Universitas Trisakti on April 28th-April 30th 2017. Its theme was HECTIC (Health Care to Exigency Condition).
National Leadership Training (NLT) is an annual AMSA-Indonesia event that has goal to enhance its member communication, leadership, and teamwork skill.
On the first day, after our delegates arrived in Jakarta, they went straight to Universitas Trisakti. They went to Usakti’s lecture room and had a lecture there about Leadership in Disaster Management by one of doctor from Usakti.
After that, they an AMSA Session, where its agenda are the bidding of Rakernas and also NAE. The session began with a presentation by the bidders. For Rakernas, there was AMSA-Universitas Jambi and for NAE, there was AMSA-Universitas Diponegoro. They both did an appealing presentation. The result would further discussed in direct meeting later on. There was also a Q&A session about the presentation.
Then, our delegates moved to the bus and go to Museum Bahari, where we did a tour. Museum Bahari is this little museum in the North of Jakarta where the maritime history in Indonesia could be seen. They also had our welcoming party there.
The welcoming party began with several welcoming speech. From the project officer, the representative of AMSA-Usakti, Student Executive Board of Usakti, Dean of Usakti, and Regional Chairperson of AMSA-Indonesia. There were also games and performances. Later, RC candidates, Elvira Lesmana and Richard Holman, did their speeches. They introduce theirselves and explain their vision and missions if they were elected as the new RC. Lastly, there was a presentation of AMSEP Indonesia for Taiwan that was held by AMSA-Universitas Tarumanegara and AMSEP Taiwan for Indonesia that was held by China Medical University in Taichung, Taiwan. At night, our delegates went to Bumi Perkemahan Ragunan to prepare for the next day.
On second day, our delegates had a skill training, consist of a basic life support training, spliting, burn injury management, and a triage training. There was also a simulation of disaster. Our delegates also had the farewell party later that night in Marina Batavia. They ate, saw performances, and played games.
Last day, our delegates did a social act in the Car Free Day along Jalan Thamrin to educate people about Road Safety. At noon, they went back to Usakti to have a small group discussion. They shared their own experiences in AMSA in small groups.
NLT 2017 definitely was one of a kind experience for our delegates. Our delegates had a new knowledge and certainly had a lot of new friends from all over Indonesia.
